This course takes around 2.5 - 3 hours, and provides tuition on the client's own GPS digital mapping program (Memory Map; OziExplorer; TrackRanger) in association with the client's own GPS. It is suitable for clients with a reasonable GPS knowledge.
Course content:
- Communications between GPS and PC
- Setup options
- Loading and displaying mapping on PC
- Creating Waypoints; Routes and Tracks on PC
- Transferring user data between GPS and PC (waypoints, routes, tracks)
- Importing/exporting data
- Moving map display/functionality
- Vehicle setup
GPS Digital Mapping typically involves both the client's GPS together with their laptop on which their chosen digital mapping program is loaded. The first part of the course is best conducted in a home office/study environment where features and options of the GPS digital mapping program can be properly covered, as well as ensuring that communications with the GPS are properly configured. This is followed by practical in-vehicle exercises.
